Equipment Configuration
Raw material receiving and storage equipment
- Raw material warehouse: build a number of raw material warehouses with different capacities to store fishmeal, soybean meal, corn protein powder, wheat bran, fish oil, vitamin premix, mineral premix and other raw materials. The raw material silo is made of steel structure, with good sealing and moisture resistance to prevent raw materials from moisture deterioration.
- Conveying equipment: Equipped with belt conveyor, bucket elevator and other conveying equipment, the raw materials from the transport vehicle or raw material stacking area to the corresponding raw material warehouse. Belt conveyor has the characteristics of large conveying capacity and smooth operation, while bucket elevator is suitable for vertical lifting of materials.
Raw material pre-treatment equipment
- Primary clearing screen: the use of cylindrical primary clearing screen or vibrating screen, to remove large particles of impurities in the raw materials, such as stones, hemp rope, sacks, etc.. Sieve mesh aperture according to the characteristics of the raw material in the 10 – 20 mm between the adjustment to ensure the effective removal of impurities, to protect the subsequent processing equipment.
- Magnetic separator: Magnetic separator equipment such as permanent magnetic cylinder or electromagnetic iron remover is used to adsorb magnetic metal impurities in raw materials, such as iron nails, iron wire, etc.. Magnetic separator internal magnetic field strength uniform and stable, can effectively remove magnetic impurities, to protect the safety of feed products.
Crushing equipment
- Hammer mill: consists of body, rotor, hammer, sieve, inlet and outlet and other components. The body is made of high-quality steel plate welded, high strength and good rigidity. The rotor is installed with several sets of hammer blades, which are made of wear-resistant materials, such as high manganese steel or high chromium cast iron, with good wear resistance and impact toughness. Sieve installed in the discharge port, according to the required crushing size to choose the appropriate aperture, generally between 0.5 – 2 mm.
- Micro-mill (optional): For some of the higher requirements of the particle size of the raw materials, such as fishmeal, etc., can choose the air micro-mill or ultra-micro-mill for further crushing. These micro-mill can crush the raw materials to a smaller particle size, usually up to 10 – 100 microns, so that the raw materials are more delicate and uniform, which is conducive to improving the digestibility and absorption of feed and floating performance.
Batching equipment
- Batching scale: High-precision electronic batching scale is the key equipment, consisting of load cell, instrument, control system and feeding device. The accuracy of weighing sensor can reach ±0.1%, which can accurately sense the change of raw material weight. The control system can precisely control the feeding speed and weight of the feeding device according to the formula instruction to realise automatic dosage, and the dosage accuracy can be controlled within ±0.5%. The feeding device can choose screw feeder, belt feeder or vibrating feeder according to the characteristics of raw materials.
Mixing equipment
- Double Shaft Paddle Mixer: The machine body adopts U-shaped groove structure, with two parallel paddle shafts inside, and several different shapes and angles of paddles are installed on the paddle shafts. Transmission device through the motor, reducer and coupling to drive the double shaft paddle reverse rotation, so that the raw materials in the mixer to form convection, shear and diffusion movement, to achieve rapid and uniform mixing. Mixing uniformity can be more than 95%, the discharge door is located at the bottom of the mixer, using pneumatic or electric control, can achieve rapid and complete discharge.
- Rotary drum mixer (optional): it is composed of cylinder body, pallet, block wheel, transmission device and so on. The barrel is made of carbon steel or stainless steel, and the internal coping or baffle plate can be set to enhance the mixing effect of raw materials. The cylinder is slowly rotating under the drive of the transmission device, and the raw materials are constantly tumbling and convection in the cylinder to achieve the purpose of mixing. Rotary drum mixer simple structure, reliable operation, easy maintenance, suitable for large-scale continuous production operations, according to the production scale and demand for selection.
Conditioning equipment
- Conditioner: single-axis or biaxial spiral structure, by the cylinder, spiral shaft, steam nozzle, inlet and outlet and other components. The cylinder is made of stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and sealing. The spiral shaft is fitted with spiral blades for pushing the raw materials forward in the cylinder. Steam nozzles are evenly distributed inside the cylinder, which can spray the right amount of high temperature steam into the raw materials as required. The conditioner is equipped with steam regulating valves, temperature sensors, pressure sensors and other control components, which can accurately control the flow rate, temperature and pressure of the steam, as well as the residence time of the raw materials in the conditioner to ensure the stability and consistency of the conditioning effect. In the production of floating fish feed, the tempering temperature is generally at 90 – 100 ℃, and the time is at 60 – 90 seconds, so that the starch in the raw material is fully pasted and the protein is moderately denatured, so as to improve the adhesion, elasticity and stability in water of the feed, in order to realise a good floating effect.
Pelletising equipment
- Screw puffing machine: mainly composed of feeding system, extrusion system, heating system, cooling system, transmission system and control system. Feeding system includes hopper, feeding screw and speed regulator, etc.
- Mould: Choose the suitable mould according to the specification and shape requirements of the floating fish feed. Parameters such as the aperture, shape and thickness of the mould will affect the size, shape and density of the feed pellets. Common moulds have apertures between 1 – 5 mm and round, square and triangular shapes, which can be selected according to the feeding habits and breeding needs of different fish.
Cooling and drying equipment
- Drying equipment: Multi-layer belt dryer or fluidised bed dryer can be used to dry the expanded pellets. Multi-layer belt dryer is composed of multi-layer conveyor belt, heating device, ventilation system and moisture removal system. During the drying process, the drying temperature and time should be strictly controlled to avoid the surface hardening of feed particles or loss of nutrients due to too high a temperature or too long a time, so as to ensure that the quality and nutritional value of the feed are not affected.
- Cooling equipment: Counterflow cooler is used to cool the dried pellets. Counter-current cooler consists of body, cooling fan, discharge device and control system. Inside the machine body, there are cooling air duct and material channel, the cooling fan sends the cold air into the cooling air duct, and the hot pellet feed flows in the opposite direction in the material channel, which quickly takes away the heat in the pellet, and cools the pellet to close to the room temperature.
Screening and bagging equipment
- Vibrating screen: according to the specification requirements of floating fish feed, choose the suitable screen aperture. Vibrating screen through the vibration motor generated by the vibration force to make the sieve body for high-frequency vibration, the raw material in the sieve surface for jumping movement, smaller than the sieve aperture particles through the sieve mesh fall, larger than the sieve aperture particles are left on the sieve surface, so as to achieve the particles of the sieving and grading.
- Bagging machine: according to the market demand and sales requirements, choose the suitable automatic bagging machine. The feeding device conveys the granular feed to the metering device, which measures it accurately according to the preset packing weight, and then the packing actuator loads the measured feed into the packing bag and seals it through the sealing device.

Production process
Raw material receiving and cleaning
Various kinds of raw materials are transported to the plant by vehicles and unloaded into the raw material receiving area. Raw materials through the transport equipment into the cleaning screen to remove large particles of impurities, and then through the magnetic separator adsorption of magnetic metal impurities, purified raw materials deposited into the corresponding raw material warehouse.
Crushing
According to the formula requirements, the raw materials from the raw material warehouse through the transport equipment into the crusher. For some of the raw materials for coarse crushing, the use of hammer crusher; for raw materials with high particle size requirements, the use of micro-crusher for further crushing to ensure that the particle size of raw materials in line with the production requirements, the crushed material is transported to the batching bin.
Batching
According to the scientific formula designed for the nutritional requirements of fish, the instructions are given through the batching control system. The dosing scale weighs each raw material accurately according to the instruction and puts them into the mixer in turn to ensure the accuracy of dosing.
Mixing
The mixer will mix the ingredients fully, so that all kinds of nutrients are evenly distributed in each grain of feed. The evenly mixed material enters into the conditioner through the conveying equipment.
Conditioning
In the conditioning device, through the appropriate amount of high-temperature steam to the material tempering treatment. Tempering process, precise control of steam flow, temperature and time, so that the raw material in the starch paste, protein denaturation, to improve the bonding of feed and water stability, tempering materials into the puffing granulator.
Puffing granulation
Expanded granulator will be tempered materials at high temperature, high pressure and high shear under the action of the screw to promote and mould extrusion, so that the material is expanded and formed with a specific shape and density of the particles. The granules enter the drying equipment through the conveying equipment.
Cooling and drying
The drying equipment uses hot air to dry the granules, remove excess moisture and make the moisture content of the granules reach the standard requirements. After drying, the particles enter the cooling equipment, through the cold air and particles reverse flow, quickly reduce the temperature of the particles, so that it is close to room temperature, to enhance the stability and water resistance of the particles.
Screening and bagging
The cooled pellets are sieved through vibrating sieve to remove unqualified crushed, powdered and sticking particles. Qualified pellet feed enters the bagging machine and is automatically bagged according to the set specifications and weight.
