Working Principle

  • Feeding: Raw materials (wood logs or sawdust briquettes) are loaded into the horizontal furnace through the feeding port. For continuous models, a screw conveyor ensures steady material supply.
  • Heating and Pyrolysis: The furnace is heated to 300–800℃ using external fuel. Under oxygen-limited conditions, materials undergo thermal decomposition, releasing volatile gases (methane, hydrogen) which are recycled as auxiliary fuel.
  • Carbonization: Organic matter in materials is gradually converted into fixed carbon, with moisture and impurities discharged as steam and tar.
  • Discharging: Charcoal is discharged from the outlet after cooling to ≤50℃. Batch models use a manual or hydraulic pusher, while continuous models adopt a screw discharger.
