Equipment Configuration
Raw material receiving and storage equipment
- Raw material silos: steel plate silos with different capacities are used to store various kinds of raw materials, such as corn, soybean meal, bran, fish meal, vitamin premix, mineral premix and so on.
- Conveying equipment: using belt conveyor and bucket elevator combination, the raw materials from the transport vehicle or yard to the corresponding raw material silo accurately.
Raw material pre-treatment equipment
- Screening machine:Use cylindrical primary sieve or vibrating sieve to effectively remove large impurities in raw materials, such as stones, twine, sacks, etc., to prevent them from damaging the subsequent processing equipment.
- Magnetic separator: Use magnetic equipment such as permanent magnetic cylinder or magnetic separator to adsorb magnetic metal impurities in raw materials, such as iron nails, iron wire, etc., using strong magnetic field to avoid misuse by poultry and protect feed safety and quality.
Crushing equipment
- Hammer mill: the main body consists of body, rotor, hammer, sieve, inlet and outlet. The body is welded with high-quality steel plate, with excellent strength and rigidity. The rotor is installed with several sets of wear-resistant hammers, made of high manganese steel or high chromium cast iron, with excellent impact toughness and wear resistance. Sieve placed in the discharge port, according to the demand for crushing particle size selection of the appropriate aperture, generally in the 0.8 – 2 mm.
- Micro-mill (optional): for the fine particle size requirements of raw materials, such as fishmeal, some vitamin premixes, etc., can choose the air-flow micro-mill or ultra-micro-mill. With the help of high speed airflow or special crushing structure, they can crush the raw materials to smaller particle size, usually up to 10 – 100 microns, to ensure that the raw materials are uniform and fine, and improve the digestibility and absorption rate of feed.
Batching equipment
- Batching scale: High precision electronic batching scale is the core, which is composed of load cell, instrument, control system and feeding device. The accuracy of load cell is ±0.1%, and the instrument has the function of data display, storage and transmission. The feeding device can be screw feeder, belt feeder or vibrating feeder according to the characteristics of raw materials.
- Batching control system: professional computer batching control system, with formula management, production task ordering, equipment monitoring, data collection and analysis and other functions.
Mixing equipment
- Double Shaft Paddle Mixer: The machine body adopts U-shaped groove structure, and the internal double shaft paddles rotate in the opposite direction. The paddle shaft is equipped with various shapes and angles of paddles, such as spiral paddles, folding paddles, etc. The transmission device drives the paddles to stir, turn and throw the raw materials strongly, so that they can be mixed in a short time. This mixer has high mixing efficiency, short time, less residue, suitable for all kinds of poultry feed formula mixing.
- Rotary drum mixer (optional): the material of the cylinder is carbon steel or stainless steel, the internal can be set up to enhance the mixing effect of the coping or baffle. The cylinder rotates slowly under the transmission, and the raw materials are mixed by tumbling and convection inside. Simple structure, reliable operation, convenient maintenance, suitable for large-scale continuous production operations, according to the production scale and demand for selection.
Conditioning equipment
- Conditioner: Single or double shaft spiral structure, including cylinder, spiral shaft, steam nozzle, inlet and outlet. The spiral shaft is equipped with spiral blades to push the raw material forward, and the steam nozzles are evenly distributed in the cylinder to inject high temperature steam according to the demand. Equipped with steam regulating valve, temperature sensor and pressure sensor, the steam flow, temperature and pressure are precisely regulated, as well as the residence time of raw materials in the machine, to ensure stable and consistent tempering effect, to make starch pasty and protein denaturation, and to improve the palatability and digestibility of feed.
Pellet making equipment
- Pellet mill: The ring die pellet mill consists of body, ring die, pressure roller, transmission device, inlet and outlet. The machine body is strong, the ring die is made of high quality alloy steel, the surface is densely covered with round or square mould holes, the diameter and shape of the holes are customized according to the specifications of the pellets. Pressure roller and ring die cooperate, through the extrusion of the material through the die hole moulding. By adjusting the rotating speed of the ring die, pressure and clearance of the pressure rollers, different particle sizes and hardnesses of pellets can be produced, with particle sizes ranging from 1.5 to 5 mm, which are suitable for different growth stages of poultry.
- Expanders (optional): For specific poultry feed requirements, such as the production of highly digestible or floating feeds, expanders can be used. The twin-screw extruder consists of a feeding system, an extrusion system, a heating system, a cooling system, a transmission system and a control system. Under high temperature, high pressure and high shear force, the material is pushed through the screw and mould forming, instantly releasing pressure to vaporise and expand the internal moisture, forming a porous structure, improving the digestibility and palatability of the feed and making the feed float on the surface of the water, which is easy for poultry to feed and observe the feeding situation.
Cooling and drying equipment
- Cooler: Counterflow cooler is mainly composed of body, cooling fan, discharge device and control system. The machine body is equipped with cooling duct and material channel, cooling fan sends cold air into the duct, and hot particles flow in the opposite direction, rapid cooling. The discharging device can vibrate or gate discharging to ensure uniformity and stability. The temperature of the cooled pellets is close to room temperature, which enhances the stability and water resistance, and facilitates storage and transport.
- Dryer (optional): If the moisture of the granule is too high or the humidity of the production environment is too high, rotary dryer or fluidised bed dryer can be used to assist drying. Rotary dryer through the cylinder rotation and the role of the platen, so that the particles and hot air full contact heat and mass transfer. Fluidised bed dryer makes use of hot air to make particles fluidised and dry. According to the actual situation to select the appropriate drying equipment and process parameters, control the moisture of the particles in the safety standards, generally 10% – 14%.
Screening and bagging equipment
- Vibrating screen: double or multi-layer screen structure, made of stainless steel wire mesh or perforated plate. According to the specifications of the finished particles, different aperture screen mesh is selected, the upper layer of the screen to remove large particles or lumps, the lower layer of the screen to remove fine powder and broken particles, to ensure that the finished particles are uniform and complete.
- Packing machine: According to the packing specifications and speed requirements, choose the appropriate automatic bagging machine, such as granule bagging machine, powder bagging machine and so on.

Production process
Raw material receiving and cleaning
Various types of raw materials are transported to the plant by means of transport and unloaded into the raw material receiving area. Raw materials through the transport equipment into the cleaning screen to remove large impurities, and then through the magnetic separator adsorption of magnetic metal impurities, purified raw materials deposited into the corresponding raw material warehouse.
Crushing
According to the requirements of the formula, the raw materials from the raw material warehouse through the transport equipment into the crusher. The crusher will crush the raw materials to the appropriate particle size, the crushed materials through the conveying system into the batching bin, ready for the batching process.
Batching
According to the scientific formula designed for poultry nutritional requirements, through the dosage control system to give instructions. Batching scale accurately weighs the raw materials according to the instruction, and puts them into the mixing machine in order to ensure the accuracy of batching.
Mixing
The mixing machine will mix the ingredients fully, so that the various nutrients are evenly distributed in each grain of feed. The evenly mixed material enters into the tempering device through the conveying equipment.
Conditioning
In the tempering device, pass into the appropriate amount of steam to the material for tempering treatment. The tempering makes the starch paste, protein denaturation, improve the palatability and digestibility of the feed, after the tempering of the material into the pelleting machine.
Granulation
Pelleting machine will squeeze the tempered materials through the ring mould and pressure roller to form granular feed. The pellet feed enters the cooler through the conveying equipment, and in some cases, it needs to be processed by the dryer first before cooling.
Cooling and drying
The cooler is designed to take away the heat quickly through the reverse flow of cold air with the pellets to reduce the temperature of the pellets to about room temperature and enhance the stability and water resistance. If there is a need for drying, the dryer will dry the granules according to the set parameters to reduce the moisture content to a safe standard.
Screening and bagging
The cooled or dried pellets are sieved through vibrating screen to remove unqualified large particles, fine powder and broken particles. Qualified pellet feed enters into bagging machine and is automatically bagged according to the set specifications and weight, and the finished products are put into storage or shipped after bagging.

Energy raw materials
Energy ingredients, mainly cereals such as maize and wheat, provide the carbohydrates and energy needed for poultry growth and improve the economics of farming.

Bran, rice bran, etc., can promote intestinal peristalsis in poultry, maintain intestinal health, and add in appropriate amount to help feed digestion and absorption and faecal formation.

Pellet shape
Commonly cylindrical, other shapes can be customised according to customers’ requirements, such as square, triangular, etc.
Pellet size
Depending on the type of poultry 1-2 weeks old 1.5-2 mm, 3-4 weeks old 2-3 mm, after 5 weeks old 3-5 mm.
Pellet hardness
The hardness (50 – 70 Newton) ensures that the pellets do not break or produce excessive powder during transport, storage and feeding.
