Raw material receiving and storage equipment

  • Raw material warehouse: According to the characteristics and dosage of different raw materials, a number of raw material warehouses with different capacities are constructed, such as fishmeal warehouse, soybean meal warehouse, corn warehouse, wheat bran warehouse, etc. The raw material warehouse is made of strong steel or concrete structure with excellent sealing and moisture-proofing. Raw material silo adopts strong steel structure with excellent sealing and moisture resistance, effectively preventing the raw materials from moisture mould or pest erosion.
  • Conveying equipment: Equipped with efficient belt conveyors, bucket elevators and other conveying devices, the raw materials are precisely conveyed from the transport vehicles or raw material stacking areas to the corresponding raw material silos.

Raw material pre-treatment equipment

  • Cleaning sieve: use vibrating screen or cylindrical primary cleaning sieve, effectively remove large particles in the raw material impurities, such as stones, wood chips, twine and so on. The aperture of the screen mesh is flexibly adjusted between 8-20 mm according to the type of raw materials to ensure that the impurities can be completely removed.
  • Magnetic separator: Magnetic separators such as permanent magnetic cylinders or electromagnetic iron separators are indispensable, as their powerful magnetic fields are able to adsorb magnetic metal impurities in the raw material, such as iron nails, iron wire, and so on.

Crushing equipment

  • Hammer mill: the body is made of high-quality steel plate welding, with high strength and good rigidity. The rotor is installed with several sets of wear-resistant hammer blades, which are usually made of high manganese steel or high chromium cast iron, with excellent wear resistance and impact toughness. The sieve is located at the discharge port, and the aperture can be selected according to the required crushing size, generally between 0.5 – 2 mm.
  • Micro-mill (optional): For some of the requirements of the particle size of the raw material is extremely fine, such as some of the high-end fishmeal or special additives, etc., you can choose the air-flow micro-mill or ultra-micro-mill for the depth of crushing. The raw materials can be crushed to a smaller particle size, usually up to 10 – 100 microns.

Batching equipment

  • Batching scale: High precision electronic batching scale is the core equipment to realise accurate batching, which is composed of sensitive weighing sensor, intelligent instrument, advanced control system and reliable feeding device. The accuracy of the weighing sensor is as high as ±0.1%, which can accurately sense the slight change of the weight of raw materials.
  • Dosing control system: it not only improves the accuracy of dosing and production efficiency, but also provides abundant data support for production management, which helps to optimise the production process and quality control.

Mixing equipment

  • Paddle mixer: The body adopts unique U-shaped groove structure, and the paddle shaft is equipped with several paddles with different shapes and clever angles, such as propeller blade, folding blade paddle, etc. The transmission device drives the double shaft paddles to rotate inversely through the motor, reducer and coupling, so that the raw materials form strong convection, efficient shear and full diffusion movement in the mixer, thus realising rapid and uniform mixing in a short time. Its mixing uniformity is up to 95% or more, which makes it an ideal mixing equipment widely used in the production of sinking aquafeed.

Conditioning equipment

  •  Conditioner: single-axis or double-axis spiral structure design, the spiral shaft is installed with well-designed spiral blades, responsible for promoting the raw materials in the cylinder body to move forward smoothly. Steam nozzles are evenly distributed inside the barrel, allowing precise control of the steam injection volume, temperature and pressure, as well as the residence time of the raw material in the conditioner, according to the characteristics of the raw material and the requirements of the production process. The starch in the raw material is fully pasted and the protein is moderately denatured, which significantly improves the bonding, palatability and digestibility of the feed.

Pellet making equipment

  • Ring die granulator: The ring die is carefully made of high quality alloy steel, with numerous round or square die holes evenly distributed on the surface, whose diameter, shape and depth can be customised according to the specifications of the sinking aquatic feed. Pressure rollers and ring moulds are closely matched to force the tempered material through the mould holes through powerful extrusion to form pellet feed with certain shape and density.
  • Flat Die Pellet Maker (optional): The flat die is made of wear-resistant alloy steel with multiple die holes on the surface. The pressure roller, driven by the transmission device, rolls on the flat die and squeezes the material through the mould holes to form granules. The structure of the flat die granulator is relatively simple, and it is suitable for some small-scale production enterprises or occasions that do not have high requirements on the shape of granules.

Cooling and drying equipment

  • Cooler: Counter-current cooler is mostly used to cool the granular feed after granulation. Countercurrent cooler main body inside the cleverly designed cooling air duct and material channel, cooling fan will be low-temperature cold air into the cooling air duct, and hot pellet feed in the material channel to form a reverse flow, through the efficient heat exchange, quickly take away the heat in the particles, so that the particles are quickly cooled to close to room temperature.

Screening and bagging equipment

  • Vibrating screen: It adopts double-deck or multi-deck screen structure, and the suitable screen aperture is carefully selected according to the requirements of finished product specifications of sinking aquatic feed. The vibrating screen generates strong excitation force through the vibration motor installed on the screen body, which makes the screen body vibrate at high frequency, the particles smaller than the screen aperture pass through the screen smoothly and become qualified finished particles; the particles larger than the screen aperture remain on the screen surface and are separated out for subsequent processing, such as re-crushing or returning to the granulation process.
  • Bagging machine: According to the market demand and sales strategy, choose the right automatic bagging machine. Automatic packaging machine mainly consists of feeding device, measuring device, packaging actuator, sealing device and coding device. Production process

Raw material receiving and cleaning

Raw materials enter the cleaning screen through the conveying equipment, using the screening effect of the screen to remove large particles of impurities, and then through the magnetic separator to adsorb magnetic metal impurities, the purified raw materials are transported to the corresponding raw material warehouse storage.

Crushing

According to the requirements of the formula, the raw materials from the raw material warehouse through the conveyor into the crusher. For most of the raw materials for coarse crushing, the use of hammer crusher to crush the raw materials to a certain size range; for a small number of fine particle size requirements of raw materials, the use of micro-crusher to further crush to ensure that the particle size of the raw materials in line with the requirements of the production process, crushed materials through the conveying system into the batching bin.

Batching

According to the nutritional requirements and growth stages of aquatic animals, professional nutritionists make scientific and reasonable formulas, and give the dosage instructions through the dosage control system. The dosage scale accurately weighs each raw material according to the instruction and puts them into the mixer in a specific order to ensure the accuracy and uniformity of the dosage and provide a good foundation for the subsequent mixing process.

Mixing

The mixer will mix the matched raw materials fully, through the rotation, turning and convection effect of the paddles, so that all kinds of nutrients are evenly distributed in each grain of feed. The well-mixed material enters the conditioner through the conveying equipment.

Conditioning

In the tempering machine, the appropriate amount of steam is passed into the material for tempering treatment. According to the characteristics of raw materials and product requirements, precise control of steam flow, temperature and tempering time, so that the raw material in the starch paste, protein denaturation, improve the adhesion, palatability and digestibility of the feed, after the tempering of the material into the pelleting machine.

Granulation

Pelleting machine extrudes the tempered material through ring die and pressure roller (or flat die and pressure roller) to form pellet feed with certain shape, size and density. In the process of granulation, the parameters of the granulator can be adjusted according to the product specifications, such as ring die speed, pressure roller, etc.. After granulation, the pellets enter the cooler through the conveying equipment. In some cases, if the moisture content is too high, the pellets need to enter the dryer first before cooling.

Cooling and drying

The cooler makes use of the principle that the cold air flows in the opposite direction to the pellets to quickly take away the heat in the pellets, so that the temperature of the pellets can be reduced to close to the room temperature, and at the same time, further removes the moisture and enhances the stability and water resistance of the pellets. If the moisture content of pellet feed exceeds the standard or the environment humidity is large during the production process, the dryer adopts suitable drying method (such as rotary or fluidised bed type) to dry the pellets and control the moisture content within the safe standard.

Screening and bagging

The cooled or dried pellets are sieved through vibrating screen to remove unqualified broken, powdered and sticking particles, and get even and complete finished pellets. Qualified pellet feed enters into bagging machine and is automatically bagged according to the set specifications and weight. After bagging, the finished products are put into storage or shipped, meanwhile, detailed product information is sprayed and printed on the bags, which is easy to trace and use.

Pellet shape

Generally cylindrical, can also be customised into other shapes, such as square, oval, etc., according to the feeding habits of aquatic animals and aquaculture needs.

Pellet size

Generally between 1 – 5 mm, depending on the species and growth stage of aquatic animals. Different sizes of pellets can meet the digestive needs of different sizes of aquatic animals.

Pellet density

Sinking aquafeeds have a relatively high density, generally greater than that of water, and therefore sink quickly to the bottom, making them easy to forage for by submerged foraging aquatic animals.

Nutrition

The proportions of protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients are adjusted according to different aquatic animal species, growth stages and production goals.
